Dr. Sadigh: The Councils are ICT Park's Masterminds

On March 13th, 2023, a meeting was held between ICT Park's councils, including admission, skill training, executive board, and economic development councils with the aim of reviewing their operations during the previous year, predicting future plans for the coming year, and appreciating the efforts of the council members. This meeting was held at Payam Club which is located in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. 

In this meeting, Dr. Mohammad Jafar Sadigh Damghanizadeh, the Advisor to the Minister and the President of ICT Park, thanked the members of the councils. Acknowledging the influence of these councils in ICT Park's success, he clarified that the councils are not management tools but decision-makers, calling the councils the masterminds and the management team, the executive arm of the Park.

Stating that the Iranian calendar year of 1401 was a fruitful and successful year for the Park, he listed some of the most remarkable achievements of ICT Park during this year: "In this year, we accomplished the construction of 115,000 meters of land, of which, 10,000 meters were constructed by the private sector. Besides, despite the fact that the admission council acts strictly regarding the acceptance of new companies, about 30 new companies joined the Park during this year.

"We have about 70 established companies, and according to the figures of tax returns, their economic growth during this year was 72%. It is remarkable that this level of growth was achieved despite the fact that Iran's economic growth was 0% during the last year. Additionally, the income of 30 new companies has increased in comparison to the previous year when they were operating outside the Park," he continued.

"Our companies have introduced 40 new products during this year and have upgraded 64 other products. However, we are not satisfied with this number and we aim to accelerate our development," the President of ICT Park added.

Dr. Sadigh Damghanizadeh also explained the three axes of the Park's activities during the last year which included providing credits to provincial parks through growth centers, creating clusters and turning ideas into companies, and establishing companies in universities through university parks. Then, he explained about the activities of ICT Park in provincial branches.

In the following, Ms. Fahim Yahyai, appreciating Dr. Sadigh Damghanizadeh’s great efforts, explained his significant role in transforming the provincial branches of the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology into science and technology parks in the early 2000s and working for the legal approval of turning the administration of universities into a system based on the Board of Trustees. 

Additionally, Dr. Mahmoud Kamarei, a Member of ICT Park's Admission Council, thanked the council members for their efforts: "So far, the decisions of the Admission Council have never been reversed by the Park's Management, and all these decisions have been implemented after being review. This cooperation is also worthy of appreciation," he said.
