In line with Expanding International Cooperation;
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria visited ICT Park

At the beginning of the visit, the Advisor to the Minister and President of the Information Technology and Communication Park, Dr. Mohammad Jafar Sadigh Damghanizadeh, as the founder of science and technology parks in Iran, gave a speech on 25 years of experience and basic requirements for establishing a science and technology park in every country.
Secondly, he introduced some of ICT Park’s leading projects including export of cultural and creative services, offering cloud services to the countries in the region, using IoT in food security issues, water consumption management, creation of open source operating system infrastructure and promoting it in Iran and other Farsi speaking countries in the region, localization of hardware technology necessary in CT industry, national information network and intelligent logistics (Cargo drone transport and IoV).
Moreover, the Adviser to the Minister and President of Information and Communication Technology Park also referred to the park’s IoT greenhouse as the first fully mechanized greenhouse in the country covering an area of 100 square meters in ICT Park; compared to other greenhouses, it benefits from reduced water consumption and increased crop yields.
Senior Market Development Advisor of ICT Park, Dr. Ehsan Chitsaz, in addition to introducing ICT Park’s members, described technical and international aspects of establishing a science and technology park in Nigeria and expressed ICT Park’s readiness to help Nigeria establish its own ICT Park.
Communication and International Affairs Advisor of ICT Park, Dr. Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, also provided a detailed report of the park’s activities, the scopes of activities and the park’s potential areas of international cooperation development and available services and capabilities; in the end, he introduced active sites of ICT park in Alborz, Mashhad and Semnan.
Subsequently, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yakubu Santuraki Suleiman, explained the situation in Nigeria and expressed his interest in launching and establishing a technology park in his country, praising the Smart Greenhouse project and ICT Park’s modem manufacturers. Lastly, he welcomed ICT Park’s assistance through sharing its experiences and technology with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Nigerian ambassador also called for the active presence of ICT Park in the forthcoming meeting of Iran-Nigeria Joint Cooperation Commission in June this year.
Both sides also discussed the process of educating and training specialized manpower in Nigeria through ICT Park, the cost of establishing smart greenhouses in different scales, technological adaptation of Iranian modems in other countries and exchanging experience/knowledge to Nigeria by the companies in ICT Park.
At the end of the visit, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria took a tour of the companies located in the ICT Park, including EtesalSanatMianeh Company, Arg Telecom and the IoT greenhouse.
It is worth mentioning that besides Dr. Mohammad Jafar Sadigh Damghanizadeh, Dr. Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, Dr. Ehsan Chitsaz and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Sadeghi, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hafizi, Deputy President for Executive and Administrative Affairs of ICT Park, Mr. Mohammad Ali Jafari, Acting Deputy President for Market Development, and Mr. Javad Yazdanpanah, Deputy President for Technology Development, also attended the meeting.
