Dr. Mahdi Mohammedi visited the Park on Wednesday, 3rd Feb, 2021, and was present at a meeting attended by Dr. Sattar Hashemi, the Deputy of Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Muhammad Jafar Sadigh, the President of ICT Park and a number of the Park’s officials.
Dr. Mohammedi also announced that the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs’ Office financially supports the Park’s innovative plans for attracting the Iranian geniuses living abroad.
At the beginning of this summit, which was held in the Conference Room of ICT Park, the President of the Park presented a comprehensive report of the Park’s activities under his leadership.
He defined the ICT Park’s main mission as economic development, deepening the technology of the companies with the goal of increasing their competitiveness, not just in Iran but also abroad. He added: “at the end of this mission, the products with a globalization capacity should have the opportunity to be sold at the international market.”
He pointed out the most important aspects of the Park, differentiating it from the other Technology Parks, is the Park’s performance. Stating that whilst other Parks would only focus on demand, ICT Park has the job of producing and distributing products to the market. In other words, ICT Park is not a startup Park. It is a Park hosting the Developed Companies with Products.
Dr. Mohammad Jafar Sadigh Damghanizadeh continued: “the Park’s mission consists of a number of main axes:
1. Assisting the Development of the young companies in the field of ICT and transforming them into the developed companies;
2. Development of the International interaction in the field of ICT;
3. Attracting the genius and inverting the immigration pattern of the genius;
4 Networking of Country’s Growth Centers and connecting the developed companies in these Centers to the Market.”
Dr. Mohammad Jafar Sadigh Damghanizadeh, on the main axis of the Park Activities, further added “the main axes of ICT Park Activity are divided into four categories:
1. The Park’s Driving Projects which have an economical nature and are of National importance, including the projects for exporting the cultural and artistic data;
2. Operational programs of the Park, include costs spent on companies located in the Park in order to develop and equip themselves;
3. Construction of the laboratories and modern equipment in the Park;
4. Periodical assessment and control of the companies based on a modern and approved criteria.”
Support of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs’ Office from the Commercialization Programs of ICT Park
In continuation of the meeting, Dr. Mehdi Mohammedi, The Director General for “Technology Innovation & Commercialization Development” of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs’ office, welcomed the commercialization programs of ICT Park in the International domain.
He spoke about different supporting mechanisms of his Dept. toward the activities of Technology Parks and the companies. He emphasized that his Dept, both in the development of technological products of ICT Park’s Companies and in attracting the Iranian geniuses living abroad, is ready to back up the Park’s Innovative Programs.
In the proceeding of the session, Rouhollah Estiri, another official for the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Affairs’ Office added: “in the domain of the style of action and support of the resident companies, ICT Park could act as agent. By doing this, it would be a center for the expansion of the export of the techno-products as well as a base for absorbing Iranian experts living abroad”.
“As an example,”, he proceeded on, “ICT Park’s companies can take the big projects from the foreign firms and distribute them among the domestic companies for execution. By the completion of the projects, they would be returned. Here, our task is to support the Iranian companies in optimally performing the projects.”
Estiri pointed out: “the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs’ policy is to support any international program which the Park is going to carry out in relation to exports and other issues, particularly those plans related to business such as the expansion of exports, transmission of technology, etc.”
Commercialization of the products of Techno Companies, the most important International Agenda of ICT Park
In the continuation of the summit, the Communication and International Relations advisor of the President of ICT Park talked about the park’s programs and activities aimed at providing the necessary conditions for commercialization, particularly in terms of content production.
Dr, Ghanbari Baghestan added: “during the last few years through specialized procedures, and solid judgments of all the techno companies in the Park, more than 20 products have been chosen for commercialization at the international level. At present, these products have prerequisites and necessary capacity for exportation.”
Referring to the inauguration of the website of the ICT Park, he said: “all the contents required for the selected products, their features and technical details are available in 3 languages - Persian, Arabic and English .”
Dr. Ghanbari Baghestan remarked that based on the program of creating the Council of Internationalization of the techno products, all the programs and activities regarding the commercialization are based on Global Standards.
In the end, Dr Hashemi, the Deputy for Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, summarized the issues and put a considerable emphasis on supporting elite students, return of the specialists , thereby inverting the immigration.
Furthermore, the export of Iranian cultural data was a prominent issue that he stressed upon and remarked that it should be based on clear objectives and programs. As he said, now, the most essential goal is to implement the plans and define our capacities and potentials, since this determination is of great importance in designing and planning.
Based on the above-mentioned subjects and the insistence of the President of ICT for implementing them, forming a bilateral joint-working group had to be established. This joint-working group is to be formed between ICT Park and the office of Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
