At the outset of this meeting, following the screening of a Park promotional video, Dr. Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, Advisor for ICT Park Communication and International Affairs, introduced the attendees and provided an overview of the Park, stating, "ICT Park operates under the supervision of Iran’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and is a specialized Park in the field of ICT.
Dr. Ghanbari further elaborated on the companies located within the Park, stating, "These companies are prominent players in the national market. We, at ICT Park, assist these companies in further development, preparing them for regional and international participation. Most of the companies in ICT Park are fully prepared to enter the global market."
"Currently, tech companies within ICT Park have over 196 products, of which 74 products, meeting technical and general criteria such as technological depth, quality, competitive pricing, etc., have been selected for regional and international commercialization," he continued.
During the course of this meeting, a selection of products by the technology companies at ICT Park, including various modems employable by mobile phone companies, smart whiteboards, access gates, and the Padvish antivirus software were showcased beside other products.
Dr. Ghanbari also introduced ICT Park’s different branches and provided some information about the services provided by the Park, international activities carried out in the past year, flagship projects of the Park, and other relevant matters.
He emphasized one of ICT Park's priorities as collaborating with Muslim countries in the region, outlining the sale of ICT Park products, the establishment of representation in Syria, as well as proposals from the Syrian side, as the axes of cooperation between the two sides.
The Advisor for the Park’s Communications and International Affairs also expressed ICT Park's readiness to collaborate on establishing a production line in Syria: "Several ICT Park’s associated companies, including Nour Behineh Gostar Middle East Company, are interested in establishing production lines in other countries," he mentioned.
Mr. Aoun, the CEO of S&S Company in Syria, introduced himself and praised ICT Park's technology products. Emphasizing that the primary need on the Syrian side is in the field of cyber security, he stated, "Damascus is currently in the post-war reconstruction phase, and the goal is to use the park's experiences and products to rebuild the city and society while developing localized ICT knowledge. To achieve better results and increase sales of products, both sides need to employ a new approach to cooperation."
The Head of S&S described the ICT and cyber security market in Syria as nascent: "During my visits to the Islamic Republic of Iran, I realized that Iran has a higher level of awareness in the field of ICT and has valuable experiences in this area," he continued.
"Considering the existing gaps in the field of information and communications technology in Syria, our main goal is to use the experiences of ICT Park to develop ICT products in Syria," he noted.
Engineer Amer, a member of the executive board of S&S, also stated: "Given that the workforce in Syria is more cost-effective and the cost of producing products in this country is lower, we can transfer ICT Park's hardware and software knowledge to Syria and then export the final product from Syria to other countries. Of course, the product exported from Syria to other countries should have a lower price and higher quality compared to other products in order to gain a suitable market."
It should be noted that after the conclusion of the meeting, the Syrian delegation visited the Nour Behineh Gostar Middle East Company, the ESM Telecommunication Company, and the ICT Park Smart Greenhouse.
